Modders are recreating New Vegas in Fallout 4

New Vegas... The game that many consider the crème de la crème of the Fallout franchise. Even though it's been 8 years since it was released, it still ranks among the best (action) RPGs ever made. However, as good as it is, time has not exactly been kind on New Vegas. Hence, it comes as no surprise that modders want to polish it as much as possible. Or in this case, they want to recreate the game using Fallout 4's engine.

The world of Fallout 4: New Vegas will still look (and play) rather familiar. But don't make the mistake of undermining the project. It's very impressive to know that the people working on it are aiming to provide players with the ultimate New Vegas gaming experience. Other than the obvious change in the engine, it looks like we'll also be getting new voice acting. Seeing as the team is very serious and hard at work, we actually look forward to seeing how they deal with the VA aspect of the game.

For now, you can follow the progress the guys are making on their Facebook page. There's also the new gameplay video that shows the start of Fallout 4: New Vegas along with the character customization.

So, is this reason enough for you to give New Vegas a go one more time once the guys are done? Of course, that may not happen soon as this is a large-scale project and - based on the video - the team has a long way to go. What's the best way to kill time, then? Well, you can always play Fallout 4, as it basically uses the same engine. It may not be on the same level as New Vegas, but hey! It still holds a decent place in the Fallout universe, right?
